Recipe – Braised Cabbage

I love this method of cooking cabbage, it’s a great way to absorb a lot of fat. I often add the meat drippings of the protein I’m cooking to the pan along with coconut oil and the cabbage soaks it all up beautifully without being oily to eat.
Recipe – Braised Cabbage
Ingredients
- 1.5cups raw cabbage (chopped)
- 50g streaky bacon (chopped)
- 1 small onion
- 1 tsp crushed garlic
- 1 Tbsp coconut oil
- Salt to taste if necessary
Instructions
- Put a large frying pan on to heat up
- Add coconut oil to heat
- Chop bacon finely and add to pan - fry until crispy
- Add onion and fry until translucent
- Add garlic and fry for a minute
- Add shredded cabbage and toss until cabbage is cooked to your liking (about 3-5 minutes)
- Serve
